Treat Eyestrain Fast With These 6 Easy Steps

I've been soaking myself on my cellphone the moment quarantine has started. I never really get busy with other things other than my phone. I even played a simulation game for straight 10 hours. I'm guilty of being so abusive with my eyes and I regret doing it.

After experiencing the consequences of my bad doing, I then started caring for my eyes.

The next day after the 10-hour soak of my eyes on my phone, my eyes felt the following:

1. Blurry Vision

This is the first sign that I felt when I realize that something is wrong with my eyes. Whenever I try to look at a distance, it's not clear. The vividness of the details is blurry even some of the near objects.

2. Eyes Hurt When I Blink

3. Dry Eyes

Dry eyes is so annoying. It seems like there's a foreign object inside the eyes even though there's not.

Dry Eyes is the result of not having enough tears to lubricate the eyes. Sometimes it's due to the blockage of the oil in the tear passage and sometimes it's because the tears evaporate so fast due to too much concentrating without even blinking or due tp the surrounding temperature.

4. Having a Hard Time Concentrating

So those are the symptoms I encountered while having eyestrain. Now, how did I cure it?

Well, looking for ways to treat it has been my top priority since I can't do my daily tasks because of it. So here are the things I did to treat my eyestrain:

1. Avoid Using Gadgets

The first thing I did to treat eyestrain was to avoid the root of it. I know it's hard at first since I get used on using my phone in a day-to-day basis. Howbeit, I instilled in mind that if I want to get cured, avoiding my phone for the meantime is best thing to do.

2. Eye Exercise

There are a lot of eyes exercise available on Youtube on Eyestrain or Dry Eyes that I tried to ease the symptoms of it. Try to look for them for they're truly helpful.

3. Warm Compress

After the eye exercise, what I did is I put a warm compress on the eyes. Warm compress will help, swear!

4. Eye Drops

I even used EyeMo Eyedrops, the blue one, as it could help in lubricating the eyes. It even gave a refreshing feeling on my eyes. I used it 2 to 3 times a day. I forgot the exact price of EyeMo but it's about Php 100+.

5. Hydrate Yourself

I read an article wherein water will help in hydrating the eyes and gives high quality tears. I admit this was hard for me to try at first, for I'm not a water drinker, but with constant motivation and eagerness to get cured, I drink 8 glasses for 1 week.

6. 20, 20, 20

It may be weird but there's a meaning of the 3 20's.
-Break every 20 minutes
-Focus an object which is atleast 20 feet
-Focus on that object for 20 seconds

So, after doing all of these things for a week. I relieve the symptoms of eyestrain and I felt so great again. Now, I learned my lesson.

Just a piece of advice to anyone who's into soaking with their phones too much, do try to take breaks and drink a lot of water-- your eyes will thank you for that.

That's it for today! I hope you're eyestrain will be treated soon of you have one. Just follow the steps above; proven and tested I tell you. Thank you for reading!
